Here is what’s on our radar in the week ahead at Good Judgment.

UK. With a new prime minister in Number 10 (and an extra No. 10 now in Manchester), Andy Burnham is the seventh person to hold that office in the past decade. According to Superforecasters, he’s likely to remain secure at least through next year. They strongly expect the next UK general election to occur in 2028 or later, assigning an 89% probability to that outcome.

Labour’s large parliamentary majority gives Prime Minister Burnham little need to seek an early mandate, particularly when a snap election would probably cost Labour seats and could eliminate the party’s majority. A minority view argues that Burnham may be tempted to capitalize on his early popularity, the difficulties facing Reform, and the opportunity to campaign on his vision before being judged on his record.
